Film Installation, Game
Ironing is an experimental film game that combines a live-action movie with a custom controller to explore consumerism, fast fashion, and the social pressure to maintain a flawless appearance. Players can only watch the film by ironing a real piece of fabric, turning an ordinary household chore into the core game mechanic. If the iron is left in one place for too long, the fabric burns—and the corresponding part of the film burns as well—creating a direct connection between physical actions and the digital experience. Through surreal scenes of people ironing in unusual positions, Ironing uses interaction as a metaphor for the repetitive labor and invisible pressures of modern consumer culture.
