The Voice in Cosmos

2020

Interactive sound installation

The artist explores the stagnant condition of waiting in which the human population finds itself during the quarantine period. Instead of using this time as an opportunity for conscious presence, people are seeking distraction through new technologies. The work consists of sounds and signals such as message sounds, keypad sounds, ring tones, television noise, and notification sounds that enter into a dialogue with the surrounding of infinite space, representing the human brain. The work compares reoccurring patterns from a larger perspective, which can be disturbing on the inside as well as on the outside: “As much as we are bored in the quarantine, we are also bored by certain thoughts and behaviors”, says the artist.

Kosmosda səs, 2020

İnteraktiv səs instalyasiyası

Rəssam karantin dövründə insanların üzləşdiyi və yaşamağa məcbur olduğu durğun “gözləmə” rejimini araşdırır. Bu zaman kəsiyindən daha səmərəli, “şüurlu yaşayış” şansı kimi istifadə etmək əvəzinə, insanlar yeni texnologiyaların köməyi ilə “başlarını qatmaq” üçün imkanlar axtarır. “Kosmosda səs” – mesaj səsi, klaviatura səsi, zəng melodiyası, televizorun səs-küyü, bildiriş səsi və s. kimi səslər və siqnallardan ibarətdir. Bütün bunlar, nəhayətsiz bir fəzada insan beynini təmsil edən dialoqa daxil olur. Əsərdə təkrarlanan səs modelləri həm daxildən, həm də xaricdən narahat edə bilən, daha geniş bir perspektivdən müqayisə edilir: “Karantin nə qədər cansıxıcı olsa da, müəyyən fikirlər və davranışlar bizi eyni dərəcədə bezikdirir”, deyə rəssam qeyd edir.
