Verdant Clash is a competitive tile-placement board game where players become gardeners shaping their own living ecosystems. Through careful planning, players plant flowers, mushrooms, bushes, and trees while adapting to changing environmental conditions and competing with other gardeners for space and resources.

The game explores the relationship between growth and survival. Every plant has its own needs: flowers may struggle under the shadow of large trees, mushrooms require darkness and protection, and trees must grow strong enough to survive storms, droughts, and human interference. A successful garden is not simply the one with the most plants, but the one that understands balance.

Players begin with limited resources and make strategic decisions about where and when to plant. Expensive trees can become powerful sources of points, but they require time and protection to grow. Smaller plants can quickly expand a garden, but they are more vulnerable to environmental changes.

The game world constantly evolves through nature event cards, introducing unexpected challenges such as heatwaves, heavy rain, frost, wildfires, and seasonal changes. These events force players to adapt their strategies and rethink their plans. Alongside natural events, players can use action cards to influence the ecosystem — helping their own plants grow, protecting them from danger, or disrupting their opponents’ gardens.

At the end of the game, players evaluate their surviving ecosystem and calculate their points. The winner is not necessarily the person who planted the most, but the one who created the most successful and resilient environment.

Verdant Clash is inspired by the complexity and beauty of natural ecosystems. Unlike traditional competitive games where destruction is the main path to victory, this game focuses on creation, adaptation, and understanding the delicate relationships between living things.
